Looking for vegan pita’s? Look no further! I first discovered Vleesch Noch Fisch a few years ago at the Vegan Food Festival in Amsterdam. They make the most delicious pita’s with vegan gyros. You can often find them at events, but luckily they also have a Street Food Bar in Amsterdam-West. It’s a food truck in the Westerpark area. You can take-away or enjoy your food outside on the cosy square.
The gyros taste a lot like meat, but is made from sustainably grown soy. It’s the perfect place to take meat eaters and show them how good vegetarian and vegan food can be.
So what are my favorite pita’s? I love the vegan Pita Gyros with tzatziki, but my absolute favorite is the vegan Pita Mi Gado! It’s filled vegan meat, green beans, carrot, pointed cabbage, homemade satay sauce of freshly roasted peanuts and lime leaf and topped with fresh coriander and roasted coconut-peanut.
